How to book a course or workshop

Saturday 20th April 2013 10am-4pm Book any 2 of Jacqui's classes for £55 or all 3 for £80.
Mitred Bag with Jacqui Wilson

bag

Using a form of Japanese Folded Patchwork, this handy Craft Bag workshop continues the ‘learn the technique’ theme with fuss free mitred corners and an easy to do concealed zip. The larger version makes a handy knitting bag, where the inserts in each of the panels may be either single fabric or pieced; but with both versions needing to be lightly quilted as part of the preparation to the workshop. The smaller bag is just as handy; from a sewing bag to take with you to workshops or, with the right wadding, a lunch bag; but is made up using just single fabric for the panels.

Saturday 18th May 2013 10am-4pm £30 per class. Book this class and Scraptastic Fun with Strips together for £55.
Scraptastic Book Jackets with Moira Smith

Book Jacket

This workshop is ideal for using up bits and pieces of fabric in your scrap box. You will learn how to construct a book jacket (or Kindle/tablet cover) using your own unique design. You’ll also have the chance to practice machine embroidery and free-machine quilting if desired. Finish your project with appliqué and other embellishments such as beads, buttons, ribbon and sequins – whatever you have in your stash. You may also like to bring a favourite photo or other “source” material from which to base your design.

Saturday 1st June 2013 10am-4pm £30 per class. Book this class and Scraptastic Book Jackets together for £55.
Scraptastic Fun with Strips (and a few circles) with Moira Smith

Quilt Another workshop in the scraptastic series, giving you lots of ideas for using up bits and pieces of fabric in your scrap box. Or perhaps you have a set of gorgeous fat quarters that you have had for ages and can’t decide what to do with them! You will create your own “fabric” using strip-piecing and Seminole techniques. The results can be cut into blocks to create a small wall-hanging, cushion cover, table runner, place mats, pot holders, bags, book jackets or even a quilt. It’s a chance to be creative!

Saturday 15th June 2013 10am-4pm £30 for this workshop only.
The Ultimate Cute Holdall with Jacqui Wilson.

ho

This is the last in the series of ‘Learn the Technique’ workshops, and brings together all that has been taught before culminating in this ‘cute’ little holdall. Once learnt all that is needed by you is a ‘tweak’ of the measurements to turn this little gem into a holdall for small gadgets to knitting needles, make-up to toilet bag.

Saturday 27th July 2013 10am-4pm £35 Book this class and Quick Quilts together for £60.
Dyeing Workshop with Moira Smith

bag

This workshop will explore traditional tie-dye and shibori techniques. Using 2 metres of calico you will learn to tie and stitch the fabric to create a range of exciting patterns and effects using one dye colour. The dye used is a fibre reactive dye – you choose the colour you would like to use; please let us know your colour choice when you book (the cost of this dye is included in the workshop fee). You also have the chance to make an optional mutli-coloured tray dye and space dye – if you’d like to do this you will need an extra ½ metre of calico, plus there will be a charge for dyes used. This is the first of two linked workshops, come along to the next workshop to stitch your tie-dye results into a unique quilt or wall hanging. Dye will be provided for the basic workshop.

Saturday 3rd August 2013 10am-4pm £30 Book this class and Dyeing Workshop together for £60.
Quick and Easy Quilt or Wallhanging with Moira Smith

This quilt is fast and easy to make using 5-inch or 6-inch blocks so it grows quickly. Use your fabric from the tie-dyeing workshop, other fabrics of your choice or use a ready-cut charm pack (5-inch squares) to make it really speedy. Your finished quilt would be suitable as a small throw or wall hanging.
