City & Guilds Design & Craft, Stitched Textiles 7716-62 with Barbara Weeks

What’s on offer? 7716-62 Level 3 Qualifications.
A foundation is not necessarily required : You can fast track to the Certificate 7716-62 course if you have average sewing skills.
You can progress from certificate 7716-62 to Diploma 7716-68.

Who’s it for? Anyone who wants to develop their creative side in a structured course with personal as well as group tutorials.

Not sure about the Design bit?
Design is integral to every aspect of the craft course. All the decisions that you make when making quilts are usually Design decisions: Which colours work together?, What style of quilting line? And so on.

Play Safe or Risk Taker?
No special skills are required: you are joining because you want to develop these skills, play with materials and ideas.

What will I make?
Projects include a Quilt, a Wall Hanging, Interior Furnishings and Accessories. Techniques are considered from a contemporary as well as traditional approach including machine & hand skills and quick methods.

What else?
Fabric Dyeing and other methods of colouring cloth are a starting point for a more personal development of work.

Course Duration 2 years ( registration with City & Guilds lasts 3 yrs)
Mondays 10 – 3pm. 6 x 10 week terms over 2 years.

What’s the cost?
£ 600 per year. £300 is payable on enrollment or no later than 6 weeks prior to the commencement of the course with one further payments of £300 payable on your first day.
Additional costs: City & Guilds one off fees ( approx £55 ) at the beginning of the first year.
In the second year £37 approximately for completing certificate and results fees.
Note: Fees are reviewed annually.
